There are spindles in the roving frame, spinning frame and twisting machine. Roving spindle is a round steel rod, the top generally has a groove to support and drive the ingot wing to rotate together, the lower end of the ingot tip is supported by the ingot foot oil cup, the middle of the ingot sleeve as the upper bearing of the spindle. The spinning spindle consists of an ingot bar, an ingot plate, supporting parts (commonly known as ingot gall), an ingot hook, an ingot foot, and a brake. The number and speed of spindles have a direct impact on the production capacity of the corresponding process, especially the spinning spindles, and it is customary to indicate the equipment scale and production capacity of the spinning mill with its number. Spinning spindle is composed of spindle rod, spindle disk, supporting parts (commonly known as spindle bladder), spindle hook, spindle foot, brake and so on. It is customary to use its number to indicate the equipment scale and production capacity of the spinning mill. The quality of the spindle is closely related to the quality of the yarn, power consumption, environmental noise, and labor productivity.

The length of the roving spindle is about 1 meter, and it is supported by the oil cup spindle foot and the spindle sleeve. The material is high-quality high-carbon steel, which has high manufacturing precision and sufficient rigidity and hardness after heat treatment. The main body of the spinning spindle is the spindle bar and the spindle disc, which are combined into a rotary body. The spindle rod is made of ball bearing steel, which is first turned or hot-rolled into a slender rod blank, and then ground and formed after heat treatment. The middle bearing of the spindle rod and the lower tip of the spindle should have high manufacturing precision, smoothness, hardness and wear-resistant metallographic structure. The upper part of the spindle rod is used to support the bobbin and must be very straight, tough and elastic. The ingot disk is bell-shaped and tightly fitted in the middle of the ingot bar. It is made of cast iron or free-cutting steel. It is the transmission part of the ingot. It is driven by the ingot belt or the dragon belt. The upper bearing is placed in it to prevent flying dust from entering the bearing. The spindle foot is the support of the whole set of spindles and is used for oil storage. The spindle hook is used to block the spindle disc to prevent the spindle bar and the spindle disc from being taken away from the spindle foot or violently moving when the bobbin is pulled out. Brakes are used to brake spindles and bobbins for piecing operations, and are required for cotton spinning, wool and chemical fiber spinning and twisting
